One of the newest projects in the works by Koman Properties is Wood River Commons. The $7 million retail development is located at the intersection of Illinois State Route 143 and Edwardsville and Vaughn Roads. Wood River Commons is in the heart of the city’s commercial district and near the new Interstate 255 extension.
The development includes a McDonalds which opened for business in January 2007, and a 13,000-square-foot strip center which is set to feature national and local retailers, specialty shops, services and restaurants. A 14,820-square-foot Walgreens opened in the spring of 2006 as part of this development.
